All Chiropractors are a little bit different and people usually are more willing to trust someone that they know, so I thought I’d tell you…a little about me.

As a Chiropractor I work on all types of musculoskeletal injuries, from car accident and work injuries to sports medicine and family wellness. There are two areas of particular focus or interest in my practice though.  One is performance artists and the other is pregnancy care.

I have always had a special place in my clinic for pregnant patients. In my youth I had an experience in which I was able to watch women work, struggle and suffer through a great trial, but I was not allowed to assist them. I struggled with the feeling of being unable to help. I was reminded of my youth as I watched my wife go through the difficulties of pregnancy. Women facing this noble challenge of bringing a child into the world receive very little in the way of relief. Chiropractic and massage provide me unique tools to help these women in a way that others can’t.

My youth has affected the way that I practice in many ways. In high school I was a runner, a soccer player, and was a 1A state track champion while a sophomore at Dugway High School here in Utah. Assisting my fellow team mates with injuries was one of my first experiences of treating multiple patients. This got me into the sports medicine that I do.

I also was a musician and actor in my teenage years, and have friends who have continued in that path. The rigors of those professions are similar to that of sports with the 8-10 hours a day of practice to fine tune the body to precise performance. As a patient of mine, professional singer, songwriter, and vocal coach Eric Hanson teaches his students the power behind proper alignment in vocal performance, and knows the value of chiropractic to precision performance.

My life has been more than just health care. I grew up all over because my father was in the military, so I’m an army brat. I spent most of my youth in Germany, and graduated from Heidelberg High School. I served a mission for the LDS Church in England, and I have always loved the beauty of Europe.

As a licensed massage therapist I specialized in prenatal and clinical massage. I graduated from the Utah College of Massage Therapy (UCMT) in 2000, and went on to study pregnancy and infant massage. I studied human biology among other things and graduated from Utah Valley State College (UVSC). My chiropractic education was in Portland Oregon at Western States Chiropractic College (WSCC) where I was involved in the student government and spent some time lobbying congress for the chiropractic profession.

I have always appreciated the out of doors and WSCC provided wondrous reminders of it all around me. WSCC has a view of two volcanos from campus Mount St. Helens and Mount Hood. While at WSCC St. Helens decided to blow off steam a couple of times and we had a great view of it from class.

My wife made sure that there was more to my life than just school, though at times that was difficult. She forced me to go to the beach with her and the girls, have some white water fun, and she even made me pick delicious blackberries with my daughters.

Through all of this my family has supported me. I am married to the most beautiful woman in the world. Together, she and I have three beautiful daughters.
